Abbigail, nicknamed "Bear," is a strong and lengthy athletic catcher from Murfreesboro, Tenn., with impressive skills to block and receive well making a force behind the plate. She has a cannon for an arm with pop times in the 1.8 range allowing her to control the running game and last year was timed as with the 2nd fastest pop time at the USSSA Select 30 Games. Abbigail's athleticism also allows her to play the outfield and she has the arm strength to throw out unsuspecting runners trying to test her.
In the grass, "Bear" can track the ball well and isn't afraid to lay out to make game changing plays. She was the starting catcher in the PGF National Championship game and continued to shine in the Fall as she competed against top tier 16U teams.
Offensively, she can drive the ball to all parts of the field but also take advantage of her speed and lay down a bunt and beat it out. "Bear" is a key player and a very vocal leader to the team," Head Coach Fredrick Alford says. "One of her biggest attributes is how she talks up her pitcher or in the dugout cheers on her team.
